MOONLIGHT ON MY MIND
To ruin a man’s life once takes a regrettable mistake.
To do so twice takes a woman like Julianne Baxter.
Eleven months ago, Julianne’s statement to the authorities wrongly implicated Patrick, the new Earl of Haversham, in his older brother’s death. The chit is as much trouble as her red hair suggests, and just as captivating. Now she has impetuously tracked him to the wilds of Scotland, insisting that he return home to face a murder charge and save his family from ruin. A clandestine wedding may be the only way to save her reputation—and his neck from the hangman’s noose.
Julianne has no objection to the match. More and more she’s convinced of Patrick’s innocence, though when it comes to igniting her passions, the man is all too guilty. And if they can only clear his name, a marriage made in haste could bring about the most extraordinary pleasure…
What Reviewers are saying:
RT Book Reviews: Four Stars. McQuiston secures her reputation for creating romantic, empathetic, and unique love stories. She truly touches readers with her characters’ compassion toward each other, as well as to a dog too adorable not to love.
The Library Journal: Starred Review. (A) fast-paced, witty, and totally addictive Victorian romance.
Night Owl Reviews 4.5 Stars, Top Pick: An exhilarating and a passionate read of the spring season… a superior job well done! The author not only wrote a worthy novel of romance and heart, but McQuiston stayed true to the more traditional traits that I love most about historical romances, the heart of the characters. The novel literally felt like a breath of fresh air had been added into the actual plot and it was very hard for me to untangle myself from the story once I finished reading it.
ADC Magazine: Jennifer McQuiston continues her series with this immensely appealing tale with a mystery that will keep readers off balance. Both hero and heroine are exquisitely rendered, warts and all.
Blithely Bookish: While I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this connected-but-not-a-series series, Moonlight on my Mind totally blew those out of the water. An awesome story with great characters, lots of passion, and a completely intriguing ‘whodunnit’ with enough twists and turns that kept me guessing at the killer’s identity right to the very end! Jennifer McQuiston is a breath of fresh air in the historical romance genre! She has such a talent for storytelling, giving us charismatic, tormented in-their-own-special-way characters we can’t help but connect to and, ultimately, fall in love with!
Crystal Blogs Books: I adore Jennifer’s writing style. The mixture of snark, sass, and romance is perfection. Toss that with a lot of giggle-worthy moments and you have another perfect McQuiston creation.
Romance Reviews Today: Entertaining, romantic, mysterious, and suspenseful. Its heroine is an irrepressible delight determined to right a wrong. The hero is guilty of nothing more than wanting to live his own life. As for the villain, there are plenty of suspects, and it’s an up and down ride to find the guilty party. I highly recommend MOONLIGHT ON MY MIND to everyone who likes a good story well told.
At the Corner of First and Romance: Refreshing historical romance is a fantastic blend of traditional historical romance with unexpected plot twists and characters… I also had NO idea who the killer in this novel was. When the killer was finally revealed, I had to scrape my jaw off my Kindle so I could finish reading.
Eclectic Passions: There’s something for everyone in Moonlight on my Mind—it’s more than just a sweeping love story! Witty dialogue & complex characters for the Jane Austen fan in everyone, an ever-present sense of time & place for fans of historical fiction, and an engrossing, unsolved crime for fans of murder mysteries.
Addicted to Romance: Moonlight On My Mind (is) an enticing and sensual romance that is packed with intrigue, danger, and plenty of romance for any reader!! STIMULATING TO THE END!!
