The Perks of Loving a Scoundrel
Available September 27, 2016….
New York Times bestselling author Jennifer McQuiston continues her enchanting Seduction Diaries series as a bookish spinster and an unrepentant rogue unite to unmask a traitor.
No one loves books more than Miss Mary Channing. Perhaps that’s why she’s reached the ripe old age of six-and-twenty without ever being kissed. Her future may be as bland as milk toast, but Mary is content to simply dream about the heroes and adventures she reads about in her books. That way she won’t end up with a villain instead.
But sometimes only a scoundrel will do.
When she unexpectedly finds herself in the arms of Geoffrey Westmore, London’s most notorious scoundrel, it feels a bit like a plot from one of her favorite novels. Suddenly, Mary understands why even the smartest heroines can fall prey to a handsome face. And Westmore’s is more handsome than most. But far worse than the damage to her reputation, the moment’s indiscretion uncovers an assassination plot that reaches to the highest levels of society and threatens the course of the entire country.
When a tight-laced miss and a scoundrel of epic proportions put their minds together, nothing can stand in their way. But unless they put their hearts together as well, a happy ending is anything but assured.
What Reviewers are saying:
Publishers Weekly: Mary’s intelligence and strength and West’s caring and attentiveness transform their forced marriage into a welcome one. The story is equal parts mystery and romance… the twists and turns navigate to a stunning ending.
Kirkus Reviews: McQuiston’s third Seduction Diaries novel is to be commended for its complex and unusual plot and for featuring characters the reader comes to care for. A surprising, readable story about healing, forgiveness, and trust.
Night Owl Reviews: Two words come to mind when describing “The Perks of Loving a Scoundrel”: Pure Escapism. Mary lives her dreams through the pages of her favorite books, but she has yet to experience all the emotions that her stories evoke in reality. She unwittingly lands in the middle of her own adventure when she meets Geoffrey, (and) her reality becomes full of twists that could rival any of her novels. Jennifer McQuiston did a stellar job…a romance as epic as the characters who lived it. 5 stars and a Top Pick.
RT Book Reviews: McQuiston’s Seduction Diaries series captivates readers with clever plots and engaging characters. Incorporating plenty of sexual tension, bantering dialogue and a mystery into this installment delivers everything fans expect from McQuiston. This is truly a delightful addition to a reader’s library.
Reader to Reader: West is a sexy bad boy with an endless reputation, a rogue sure to be a favorite with readers, but it’s Mary’s no-nonsense approach that stops him in his tracks. Mary’s journal entries, the double-entendres that pepper conversations between Mary and West, and a redeemed (and recovered) rogue all put this book over the top. It’s fantastic, one of the best romances of 2016. Don’t miss this series!
Long and Short Reviews: Wonderful, saucy and full of pure hope and optimism. Pick up your own copy of The Perks of Loving a Scoundrel and see for yourself why I thought this book so awesome.
Booklist: What begins as a dutiful marriage turns into a genuine partnership as they work together to uncover the truth behind the evil plot. The real fun is in Mary and Geoffrey’s verbal sparring, spiked with double entendres and Mary’s journal entries detailing her experiences. Regency romance fans will adore this addition to McQuiston’s Seduction Diaries series.
